Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Tonsera, a booking and payments platform for independent barbers. By creating an account or booking an appointment through Tonsera, you agree to these Terms.

What Tonsera is

Tonsera gives independent barbers a booking page and handles payment for the appointments booked through it. Barbers set their own services, prices, and availability. Tonsera is the platform that connects a customer's booking and payment to the barber who performs the service — Tonsera does not employ barbers and is not itself a barbershop.

Accounts

You need an account to book an appointment or to run a booking page. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your password secure. Barbers are responsible for the accuracy of their services, prices, and availability.

Bookings and payment

When a customer books an appointment, Tonsera places a hold on the customer's card for the service price plus a small platform fee. The card is charged when the barber marks the appointment complete. If a booking is cancelled before then, the hold is released and the customer is not charged. A barber may set a no-show fee that applies if a customer doesn't show up for a confirmed booking — this is disclosed on the booking page before checkout.

Payment processing

Tonsera uses Stripe to process payments and to pay barbers out. Barbers connect a Stripe account and complete Stripe's identity and bank verification before they can accept bookings that require payment. Tonsera does not store full card numbers — that's handled directly by Stripe.

Cancellations and disputes

Cancellation windows and refund eligibility are set by each barber's availability and policies. If a customer disputes a charge with their bank or card issuer, Tonsera may place the related booking on hold while the dispute is resolved.

SMS messaging

If you provide a phone number and check the SMS consent box at checkout, you agree to receive text messages from Tonsera about your appointment — confirmations, reminders, and reschedule/cancellation notices. Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of booking or purchase. Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies with your bookings. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Acceptable use

Don't use Tonsera to book appointments you don't intend to keep, to circumvent fees, or to collect payment for services you don't actually provide. We can suspend or close accounts that abuse the platform or its payment system.

Disclaimers

Tonsera is provided as-is. We work to keep bookings, holds, and payouts accurate, but we don't guarantee the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren't responsible for the quality of a haircut or other service performed by a barber.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Tonsera changes. If we make a material change, we'll post the new Terms here with an updated date.
